Many festivals and events across the province continue to adapt and find innovative ways to move forward while adhering to Nova Scotia’s COVID-19 safety guidelines. Through thoughtful planning and creative solutions event organizers have been able to execute a variety of events across Nova Scotia. One such event is Devour! The Food Film Fest will take place October 21-25, 2020 in Wolfville. Though this is the festival’s 10th anniversary, organizers are scaling back the anniversary celebrations and going forth with an event dubbed Devour 9.5.
“Devour! The Food Film fest has had the ability and luxury of being able to study the global festival environment for a number of months and make adaptations to our programming that should allow us to be ready for any scenario this fall,” says Devour! Executive Director, Michael Howell.
This year’s event will include a hybrid of live-streamed and in-person films, workshops, and five key signature events that will take place outdoors with appropriate physical distancing measures: Beyond Terroir: Collaboration with Benjamin Bridge & The Glooscap First Nation; Great Devour! Chicken Dinner; Mayors’ Bike Ride for Devour!; Devour! Down Home Lobster Supper; and the new Devour! Drive-In, in partnership with the Valley Drive-In Theatre.
